Lock Screen Stops Meditation on Apple Devices

Does your meditation stop or pause after your iPhone or iPad screen goes dark and locks? We've got a fix for that!

This is due to another app trying to access audio in the background and it's controlled on the iPhone or iPad itself.

First, force quit all the open apps on your device.

  1. On an iPhone X or later or an iPad with iOS 12+, from the Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause slightly in the middle of the screen. On an iPhone 8 or earlier, double-click the Home button to show your most recently used apps
  2. Swipe up on each app's preview to close the app.

Doing this once usually fixes the issue permanently but if it happens again, please try repeating these steps. For more information and a video of how to force quit an app, see this support article: Apple Support: How to Force Quit an App.

If those steps don't solve it, try offloading and reinstalling the app. Offloading removes the app from your phone but leaves your personal data, like downloaded meditations. Try these steps to offload, then reload the app back onto your phone.

  1. Tap on your iPhone’s/iPad's Settings app.
  2. Tap General.
  3. Tap iPhone Storage/iPad Storage.
  4. Scroll through the list of apps on your device and tap Ten Percent.
  5. On the next screen, tap Offload App in blue.
  6. Confirm your selection by tapping Offload App in the pop-up message at the bottom of your screen.
  7. Next, tap Reinstall App.

If you try these steps and you're still having trouble with the app or if you have any other questions, please email us at support@tenpercent.com.
